Omaha, Nebraska, September 23, 2016 – The Scoular Company announced today that its Board of Directors has named Marshall E. Faith as Chairman Emeritus. The lifetime position recognizes Faith’s nearly 50 years of service, strategic insight, and inspirational leadership to the Company.
Faith’s commitment to Scoular spans nearly 50 years. He bought a majority interest in the Scoular-Bishop Grain Company in 1967, serving as CEO for 23 years and Chairman for 25 years. He most recently served as Vice Chairman of the Board, a position from which he retired following the Company’s Board of Directors Meeting on September 16, 2016.
Under Faith’s leadership, Scoular grew and flourished. In the past 50 years, the Company evolved from a three-grain-elevator operation in the Midwest with 10 employees to a much larger and complex organization. Today, Scoular employs 1200 people in 120 strategic locations and serves end-users and suppliers of grain, feed ingredients, and food ingredients around the globe.
Faith also established The Scoular Foundation to put a portion of the Company’s net profits to work helping people, organizations, and projects in communities where Scoular’s employees live and work. In addition to creating the Foundation, he also served in a number of leadership positions for industry and civic organizations, including the Nebraska Leadership Council, the Strategic Command Consultation Committee, the Aksarben Board of Governors, and the boards of Boy Scouts, Nebraska Methodist Hospital, Joslyn Art Museum, United Way of the Midlands, Youth for Christ/USA, Creighton University, and Bellevue University. Faith is a former Director of both Paxton & Vierling Steel Company and Norwest Bank Nebraska (now Wells Fargo).
