Omaha, Nebraska, August 30, 2016 – Scoular, one of the largest grain storage and handling companies in North America, announced that its facilities in Andres and Channahon, Illinois, recently earned the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s (OSHA) SHARP award. The Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program (SHARP) award is given to employers who operate an exemplary injury and illness prevention program.
“We are very proud that the employees of our Channahon and Andres facilities have completed the necessary steps to achieve this recognition and earn this prestigious award,” said David Noel, Scoular’s Safety Manager. “The SHARP award represents our company’s ongoing commitment to our employees’ safety.”
SHARP is designed to provide recognition and support to employers who implement and continuously improve effective safety and health management systems at their work sites. All SHARP companies are exempt from programmed OSHA inspections from one to three years.
Scoular’s state of the art grain cleaning facility in Andres focuses on supplying corn and soybeans to the food and feed markets in the US and Asia.
At Scoular’s Channahon facility, containers and trucks are loaded daily with DDGs (dried distillers grain) for Scoular and third party customers.
