Canola Meal

Canola meal is the byproduct from the processing of canola seeds into oil. Canola meal has a good amino acid balance with especially high levels of methionine, cysteine and histidine and is used as a livestock feed especially with cattle.

Canola Meal Pellets

Canola meal pellets are a nutritious feed ingredient for livestock, providing essential amino acids. Scoular’s canola meal pellets are produced locally at our dual oilseed crush facility.

Canola Oil

Canola oil is the nonvolatile oil pressed from the seeds of the canola plant. Canola oil may be available in refined, bleached, deodorized and winterized options. Scoular’s Goodland crush facility produces super-degummed canola oil.

Canola Seed

Canola seed is often used to make canola oil but is also used as a birdseed, either fed alone or mixed in a blend. Canola seed is ideal for small birds, including finches, canaries and quail.

Buckwheat

Buckwheat is a fruit seed and is a suitable substitute for people sensitive to wheat or other grains that contain protein glutens. Buckwheat is a good source of manganese, copper, magnesium, dietary fiber, phosphorus, rutin, quercitin and all eight essential amino acids.

Oats

Oats are an ancient cereal grain used for human consumption in oatmeal, oat milk and milling and can be used as an animal feed ingredient as well. We offer organic and non-GMO options.

Quinoa

Quinoa is an ancient seed grain that is high in protein, dietary fiber, B vitamins and dietary minerals and is used as an ingredient for both pet and human food manufacturing.

Red Millet

Red millet is a warm-season, small-seeded grass grain and is ideal as a bird food as well as a human food ingredient. Used in many bird feed blends, mostly for winter mixes.

Sorghum

Sorghum is a versatile, drought-resistant ancient cereal grain used in sweeteners and cereals, in ethanol production as well as in animal feed.

White Millet

White millet is a small-seeded grass grain used as a bird seed as well as for human consumption in brewing or milling for breads and porridge. White millet is ideal for diets sensitive to gluten. Used in many bird feed blends, usually in winter mixes.

Feed Barley

Barley is a grain with high energy and protein used for feed of ruminate livestock, such as cattle. It can be used in growing and finishing diets or used in blends or feed mixtures.

Hulled Barley

This affordable variety of barley is minimally processed in order to remove as much of the outer hull as possible without disturbing the bran beneath it.

Hulless Barley

This is a high-protein variety, often used for swine and poultry feed. In hulless barley, less processing means the full germ and bran is retained, so it classifies as a whole grain.

Malting Barley

There are many uses for malting barley, from distilling alcohol and brewing beer to making malted syrups, breakfast foods and even animal feeds.

Corn DDGS

We offer corn distiller’s dried grains as a corn coproduct in animal feed for the livestock and animal feed manufacturing industries. Corn distiller’s dried grains with solubles are the nutrient-rich coproduct of dry-milled ethanol production and have a high content of valuable protein, high calorific value and bioelements, making it useful in feed for livestock.

Corn Gluten

We offer corn gluten feed as a corn coproduct in animal feed for the livestock and animal feed manufacturing industries.

Corn Hominy

We offer corn hominy as a corn coproduct in animal feed for the livestock and animal feed manufacturing industries. Corn hominy is a byproduct from the manufacturing of pearl hominy, hominy grits or table meal from corn. Although it shares similarities with ground corn, it has slightly more energy and protein and is highly palatable for ruminate livestock such as cattle, as well as poultry, and is ideal for adding to grain mixtures or feed blends.

Corn Screenings

We offer corn screenings as a corn coproduct in animal feed for the livestock and animal feed manufacturing industries. Corn screenings are the entire kernel, broken, ground or fractured. They may contain incidental whole kernels and must consist of 70% or more of corn and may contain no more than 30% of admixture.

Hard Endosperm Corn

We offer non-GMO and identity-preserved hard endosperm corn. This variety of corn is used for various food and snack applications.

Popcorn

Scoular is a leading handler, processor, and exporter of popcorn, including mushroom popcorn, yellow butterfly and white butterfly varieties. Our popcorn products can be used for a variety of uses, including movie theaters, concession snack bags, microwave popcorn, retail packaging, bags and jars, and coated popcorn.

We offer identity-preserved and non-GMO options. Our popcorn passes through several processing machines to remove foreign materials and ensure kernels are uniform in size and color.

Steamflaked Corn

We offer steamflaked corn as a corn coproduct in animal feed for the livestock and animal feed manufacturing industries. Steamflaked corn is corn that has gone through a steam flaking process in which moisture and heat over time are added to soften the corn before passing through rolls, increasing the surface area of the grain, improving the starch digestibility and enhancing ruminant performance of the feed. Ideal for use with ruminate livestock such as cattle.

Waxy Corn

Waxy corn is a variety of field corn that has a sticky texture when cooked due to its large amounts of amylopectin, giving it a high starch content and making it ideal for use in food production, especially corn starch. We offer identity-preserved, organic and non-GMO options.

White Corn

White corn has a specific starch profile that is ideal for use as a food ingredient in tortilla chips, snack foods and grits. We offer identity-preserved, organic and non-GMO options.

Yellow Corn

Canary Seed

A seed used around the world in bird food mixes. Saskatchewan is where 85% of the world’s supply is grown. Canary seed comes from canary grass. It can be fed alone or used in mixes and blends. It is high in protein and tryptophan and is gluten-free. We offer both yellow and brown hairless canary seed.

Chia Seeds

Chia seeds are one of the healthiest, most nutrient-dense foods and are used as a natural replacement for many supplements because they contain many of the same nutrients. They are the highest naturally occurring source of omega-3 fatty acids, a great source of fiber, calcium and protein and are non-allergenic. Chia is known for its high nutritional value, including being rich in omega-3 fatty acids, fiber, protein, and various essential minerals, and may be used in a variety of applications.

Hemp Seed

Hemp seeds are derived from the cannabis plant and are high in essential amino acids and healthy fats. They are used to make oils and milk and in food manufacturing.

Safflower Seed

Safflower seed is a high-protein, high-fat seed used in food manufacturing for making oil, food dyes and artificial saffron, as well as a bird seed for wild and domesticated birds. A bitter seed, in bird food it is used as a stand-alone feed or often mixed in birdseed blends. It is a favorite of cardinals and grosbeaks but deters nuisance birds such as grackles as well as squirrels.

Sunflower Seed

We offer many varieties of sunflower products from whole seeds, chips and kernels, to oil and meal. Our sunflower seeds may be used for all varieties of applications from food manufacturing to wild bird feed.

Bakery Kernels

Standard baking sunflower kernels are average size kernels ideal for use in milling for baked goods. Our bakery kernels are guaranteed non-GMO and sourced from our growers’ network.

Black Oil Sunflower Seeds

We offer black oil sunflower seeds as a wild bird food ingredient. Black oil sunflower seeds have a thinner shell, are meatier than striped seeds and have a higher oil content, which gives birds more nutrients and calories.

Coarse Sunflower Chips

Coarse chips are a mixture of whole kernels and pieces that offer a favorite option for backyard bird feed mixes without the mess and waste of in-shell seeds. Our coarse chips can be sourced alone or added to any bird feed blend.

Canadian Western Red Wheat

Canadian western spring wheat is a hard red spring wheat grown in western Canada and harvested in the spring. It’s a superior milling and baking quality wheat with three milling grades and various guaranteed protein levels. It’s ideal alone or in blends for hearth breads, steamed breads, noodles, flat bread or common wheat pasta.

Dark Northern Spring Wheat

Dark northern spring wheat is a premium classification of hard red wheat that has 75% more dark, hard and vitreous kernels and a minimum of 14% protein levels, making it an ideal choice for bakers and flour millers. We offer identity-preserved, organic and non-GMO options.

Feed Wheat

Feed wheat is wheat that didn’t reach standards needed for milling and is ideal for use in animal feed diets. This feed-grade wheat is a palatable, digestible energy source for cattle, pigs and poultry.

Hard Red Winter Wheat

Hard red winter wheat (HRW) is a multiuse grain with moderately high protein content and is an excellent choice for milling and baking. HRW is usually used as an improver in blending. In addition to making bread flour, it is also used in Asian noodles, hard rolls and flat breads.

Hard White Wheat

Hard white wheat is lighter in color and tends to have a sweeter taste over traditional red wheats and is used in the milling flour for yeast breads, hard rolls and pasta. We offer identity-preserved, organic and non-GMO options.

Soft Red Winter Wheat

Soft red winter wheat contains low to medium levels of protein and soft endosperm, making it suitable for use in the milling of flour such as cake, pastry and self-raising. We offer identity-preserved, organic and non-GMO options.

Soft White Wheat

Soft white wheat is a low-moisture grain with soft kernel texture and low protein content and is excellent for milling. Soft white wheat is a brighter and whiter product used in Asian-style noodles, cakes and pastries.

Wheat Bran

Wheat bran is the outer layer of the wheat kernel and an excellent source of dietary fiber, particularly insoluble fiber.

Wheat DDGS

We offer wheat distiller’s dried grains as a wheat coproduct for use as an animal feed for the livestock and animal feed manufacturing industry.
