Kari O’Neill Potts appointed Scoular’s next Chief Legal Officer

OMAHA, Nebraska (June 28, 2024) – Scoular announced today that Kari O’Neill Potts has been appointed as Scoular’s next Chief Legal Officer & Corporate Secretary. She also will join Scoular’s Senior Leadership Team. 

O’Neill Potts, who previously served as Scoular’s Senior Associate General Counsel – International Commercial Transactions, brings 15-plus years of diverse legal experience and expertise in global commercial markets, the agriculture industry, and manufacturing and sales to the role. O’Neill Potts has led in various in-house legal and operations leadership roles, starting her career at an Omaha-based corporate law firm.  

In her new role, O’Neill Potts will lead Scoular’s legal team and serve as principal advisor on legal, risk, compliance, governance and other matters to Scoular’s Senior Leadership Team and Board of Directors.

O’Neill Potts’ promotion is effective July 13. She fills the role previously held by Megan Belcher, who is leaving Scoular for a Chief Legal Officer role at another company.   

O’Neill Potts is a lifelong Omaha resident who is deeply involved in the Omaha community. She was named a Tribute to Women Honoree by the Women’s Center for Advancement and received a 40 under 40 Award from the Midlands Business Journal. She is board president for the Omaha Public Schools Foundation, board president of Mentor Nebraska, and a board member of the Omaha Community Foundation.
