Beet Pulp

Beet pulp is the vegetable matter which remains after sugar is extracted from sliced sugar beets. As a bulk feed high in fiber, it is unique that its fiber is easily chewed and extremely digestible. It is supplied as either dried flakes or compressed pellets, and when fed to horses, it should always be soaked in water first. Beet pulp is also an ingredient used in pet food formulations.

Pea Starch

Scoular’s pea starch is a native, clean label starch that is neutral in flavor, relatively high amylose content, low gelatinization temperature and is stable under high temper acid and shear. Tomato pomace is the dried mixture of tomato skins, pulp and crushed seeds that remains after the processing of tomatoes. The product can be sun-dried, extruded or drum-dried.

Yeast

Yeast is a coproduct from the brewing of beer. The yeast is removed after the brewing process and made inactive by means of organic acids. Yeast is high in nucleic acids and can be used as a replacement for fish meal in aquafeed diets for salmonids and sea bass.

Agar

Derived from red algae, agar is widely used in pet foods due to its excellent gelling, thickening and stabilizing properties.

Guar Gum

Guar gum is one of the most popular gums used in pet food applications due to its resistance to harsh conditions and great thickening properties. It is gluten free.

Kappa Carrageenan
